Located in the heart of Lincoln Park just minutes away from the Majestic Hotel, Willows Hotel & City Suites Hotel and downtown Chicago, DePaul University is one of the largest and prestigious private universities in the nation. Wedding Receptions & Ceremonial Events
DePaul University has been the site of many beautiful weddings over the years. Our friendly event planning team will help you coordinate all the details of your special day. We will help you make your wedding be an elegant day that you will always remember. Weddings may be held in two possible locations, the Cortelyou Commons or the Student Center (room 120 A and B). Both rooms provide beautiful settings for that special day.
Originally built in 1929, the Cortelyou commons is a beautiful structure both inside and out. Remodeled in 2006, the 'Commons' is now equipped with built in audio visual equipment, a coat room and an outdoor patio. This space is perfect for mid to large size events, including weddings, ceremonial events and banquets.
For smaller wedding receptions and meetings, the balconies and south room of the Cortelyou Commons can be used separately.
